Meet the sxRNA Team

A serial entrepreneur, inventor of sxRNA, and Professor of RNA Nanotechnology at University at Albany – SUNY. With 20+ patents, 4 spin-out companies, $14M+ in NIH/NSF funding, and 60+ publications, they have led RNA research and innovation for over two decades.

A serial entrepreneur, bioinformaticist, and molecular biologist, as well as the inventor of sxRNA. With 12+ patents, 2 spinoff companies, and 16 years of RNA research, they are driving innovation in RNA science and biotechnology.

Michael's research at UAlbany identified genes that resist carcinogen-induced mutations. A Sullivan Award winner and RNA Institute Fellow, he published in Genes, Genomes and Genetics before joining sxRNA.

A researcher in Nanoscale Science and Engineering, mentored by Scott Tenenbaum. As an RNA Fellow, she is part of a select cohort advancing RNA-focused research through specialized coursework and colloquia.

Ed leads efforts to advance sxRNA’s switching technology for biomedical applications. With a vision for harnessing messenger RNA’s therapeutic potential, he is driving the development of sxRNA to combat diseases like Alzheimer’s and beyond.

The Founder and Managing Director of Wojeski & Company CPAs. He has extensive experience in strategic and tax planning, mergers, and acquisitions. Dave is also a founding partner of Valuation Resource Group, LLC and holds a summa cum laude degree from SUNY Albany.

The principal of The Michael Barnas Law Firm, PLLC in Albany, NY, specializing in commercial and business law. Formerly Senior Counsel for Renewables at GE Power & Water, Mike has extensive experience in global transactions. He holds a Juris Doctor from Fordham University and a degree from Columbia University.

Our patents pertain to RNA compositions and methods aimed at modulating the translation of a polypeptide coding region. They are assigned to The Research Foundation of the State University of New York (SUNY) and have been exclusively licensed to sxRNA Technologies, Inc.
